BUSINESS DINING

It is not uncommon for employers to conduct interviews over a lunch or dinner. They want to see how you handle yourself in a more social setting especially if the job you are applying for requires a certain standard of conduct with clients and superiors. You will be judged not only on what you say but also on your table manners, and there is nothing more sure-fire than poor dining skills to cause your job offer to evaporate into thin air.

This also applies to business negotiations. Today’s savvy executive knows that ninety percent of business deals are made over lunch or dinner. You want to be self assured and confident, focusing on negotiating the deal and not negotiating your way around the knives and forks.

This course will cover the basics of dining skills, strategies to put you at ease before and during the meal and appropriate business attire.

DINING SKILLS FOR TODAY

Nothing creates a more favorable impression than good table manners and consequently, nothing creates a lasting poor impression than sloppy dining skills.

Good table manners are a mark of leadership and civility and this course is designed to teach you how to conduct yourself in all dining social situations, from fast food, buffet to the most formal of dinner occasions.

The course will also cover cross cultural dining skills comparing North American, European, Asian and Indian dining etiquette.

TEN RULES FOR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

It’s much easier to keep loyal customers than to look for new customers. This applies to any business, whether you’re selling lingerie or grooming animals. Learn the 10 rules of great customer service in the three situations of:

  1. Face to face communication
  2. Telephone communication
  3. Online communication

In this course, students will be expected to participate in role playing scenarios based on a variety of situations.

Never lose a customer again because of poor customer service.

THE HOST WITH THE MOST

Petrified of having to host a luncheon or dinner, be it for business or personal reasons? Learn how to host a relaxed dining engagement with business acquaintances, friends or family. Learn strategies on how to assemble a no-sweat menu, whip up creative table settings, make informative and appropriate introductions and initiate fun icebreakers and questions to keep the conversation lively.

Learn also how to host a dinner or lunch at a restaurant. Emphasis will be placed on efficient, cost effective preparation to ensure a smooth running, problem free dining experience.

This course will ensure that everyone (including you) will come away from the lunch or dinner with a smile on their face.
